Baseball player eating Ivy in the mail

My pal Joey sent me a few extra things in a trade for the Ivy Frankenset.  I've got several other colors so I'm now going to try and go for the full rainbow on David DeJesus, as he gets swallowed by the evil baseball player eating Ivy wall.

He also sent this Sweeeeeeeeet Alfonso Soooooooooriano on the nice mini A&G back.  It might be the first actual mini that's made it into the binder.  I'll have to check on that.  I do have a 1993 UD Heros of Baseball tri-fold of Don Kessinger or someone making a sweet diving catch that I folded up to fit in the binder (this one.  I have a flat copy stored in a binder with currency pages.  I'm not a total heathen. All of the time)

The Topps Salutes set was a massive multiyear insert set that has things that feature in several mini frankensets: Old timey uniforms, leaping catches at the wall and Ivy (anyone have the S-70 Bob Gibson where he is in front of Ivy and a red garage door from the 2018 Topps Salute set they can hook me up with?).  In this case we have a nice Fergie

I also scored a neat Javy Baez from his days as the Magician from that set (how did he get the ball to float outside his glove like that? Magnets?). He could go into the Ivy binder.  He could go in the Non Base floating balls set (because this was an insert).  I don't recall which set had a potential open slot for him so I gotta go thru them, but it's always nice to have some crossover on the various sets.  Wink wink (for a future post)

Finally, my very generous trading friend Shin set me up with another Fergie in front of the Ivy on one of the snazzy Archive vintage sets.  And for the very first time, as I type this, I have noticed that the 2 Fergie cards use the same image with different years card style.  There is nothing in the rules of the Frankenset that says a player cannot appear multiple times.  There is also no rule that says the same picture can't be repeated on a different card.  Maybe we'll tighten up the rule a bit if we find another card to slot into one of Fergies slots.

Further he added a Randy Johnson card from next year's Archive set where puts the Big Eunuch (For many years I could not understand for the life of me why they called him this.  Now, please Excuse me while I kiss this guy) standing in front of a bunch of twigs on the brick wall in early spring before the leaves sprouted.

He actually was a reversed entry, wherein I flip the card number 255 to it's reverse 552.  Since there are no back sides to the binder pages it's a way to get a few deserving cards who might share a number both in.  And further in this case Randy bumped out another reverse number card out of the spot.  John Leiber is OK, has some nice Blurry Ivy at the rear, but Randy has a bit of the painted number on the wall near his back foot.  I know it looks like a blob, but it's a number painted in yellow.  In this pantheon of Ivy having a piece of the numbers on the wall are paramount, but having a shot that includes the various doorways and roll up doors on the outer edges of the wall is a close second.  A picture that shows individual leaves is more desirable than the blurry mush of greens and browns of the wall at a distance. It's all about the Ivy
